My Belief About Being An Effective Therapist

It isn't enough to just go through the motions of life and get from day to day on survival mode. Human beings have an in depth need of expressing their creativity, having purpose and meaning, connecting to others, and living by their most important values. Most people live in fear and avoidance, which ultimately makes people feel anxious, alone, and creates an underlined expression of sadness. I help people to see themselves and their life in a new light. To change perspective with a fresh mind set and to create new patterns of behavior and self expression. Then, something incredible starts to happen. People actually begin to have more joy, celebration, stronger relationships, and more meaning in their lives. Its pretty amazing to be a part of someone's life journey and witness their unfolding.

Experience, Areas of Specialty & Education

I have worked in a variety of different settings that have given me a wide range of expertise in private practice. I worked with families in crisis with a non-profit organization for 10 years. I spent 5 years working with John Muir Behavioral Health Psychiatric Emergency Services with Adults, Teens, and Children, in addition to John Muir’s Center for Recovery Drug and Alcohol Detox Center. These experiences shaped me into the therapist that I am today, because I could see first hand the things that caused people to live with suffering and hopelessness. I have made it my life’s work to teach people to be proactive with their mental well being and make it a top priority.

About Me

I am a wife and mother living in Northern California. In addition to English I speak Arabic and Spanish. I have a passion for travel and have visited 37 different countries, which has given me an understanding and respect for different cultures and has inspired me to work with a diverse population of people. I find respite in the outdoors and being in nature. I am also an advanced yoga teacher and regularly hold workshops on meditation and mindfulness. I have been working in mental health since 2001 and I am passionate about the work that I do. My own path and journey is to help others discover their most important life values and live with purpose and peace of mind.
