"Hi! My name is Sarah and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist born and raised in the Bay Area. In addition to private practice at CMTI, I am a therapist in an Intensive Outpatient Program for individuals across the lifespan. I have experience working with individuals across the lifespan, from ages 5 to 99, with a strong focus on adolescents and transition-aged youth."
Therapy Style
"I am a compassionate psychotherapist who is deeply committed to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, whether through difficult emotions, relational struggles, or personal transitions. I find great value in creating a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, gain self-awareness, and develop the tools they need to heal and grow. With a genuine passion for empowering others, I walk alongside my clients to help them build resilience, discover new perspectives, and find a sense of peace and balance in their lives. Regarding my background working with adolescents and transition-aged youth, my work with this age group emphasizes helping them navigate life transitions, build resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies. This specialization allows me to tailor my approach to meet the unique challenges faced by younger clients. My approach is centered on understanding each person’s unique journey, and I believe that, with the right support, every individual has the capacity to create meaningful change and live a more fulfilling life rich with meaning.
I have experience utilizing a range of therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, Seeking Safety, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Humanistic therapy, Family Systems therapy, Existential therapy, and CBT Relapse Prevention, to help clients build coping skills, enhance emotional regulation, and promote long-term recovery. My role is to guide clients through their healing journey with compassion and skill-building. I have a holistic approach to mental health that I believe is inexplicably intertwined and interconnected to everything in our communities and systems. It’s also important that I support you in finding your internal strengths, while also looking through a culturally-sensitive lens. It's important that I support you in recognizing your inner strengths while ensuring a culturally-sensitive approach.
In addition to being a therapist, I have a great passion for nature, exploring new hiking trails around the Bay, taking care of my plants, watching old films, and enjoying the beautiful California sunshine.”
