About Me

Karin Cooke, is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, who uses a compassionate, strengths-based approach to helping people through welcome and unwelcome changes. Karin uses a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach to therapy, using acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) while also integrating an attachment and emotion-focused lens.

Karin provides support to people through life’s transitions, whether it is grief and loss, relationships beginning or ending, or new stages of life, including high school/college students/graduates, new jobs/careers, new parents, empty nesters, and retirees. She works to create a comfortable and brave space for people to integrate their strengths and work towards a more hopeful present and future.

With experience working with teens, young adults, adults, and families. Karin matches her approach to the unique needs of each client.

A curious, life-long learner, Karin enjoys music, books, and the outdoors and will happily integrate all of those into therapy. In addition to having master’s in counseling with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from the Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences, Karin brings experience as a health care professional, focused on strategy, innovation, and empowering people and organizations to grow and change.
